Is it true that you can unlock the new 3G Apple iPhone? I heard a rumor that some guy figured out how to unlock the iPhone, but I don't really know if that's true or not. Here's what I found on it.

Part of the problem is that they make you activate the 3G iPhone before you leave the store. But I found one guy with this advice:

"what i did when the first iphone came out i activated with att and then called att and canceled. they asked me if i returned it and i was like uhh.yeahh...sure did. all i had to pay was the $35 activation fee and like $15 for my monthly bill since i only used it for a few days. im going to do it again when this one comes out. i have also seen that they have already unlocked version 2.0 on the old iphone, it might be different on the new iphone because of some of the hard ware changes."

So would it be possible to unlock the new iPhone like this? Any help would rock!
