Verizon Wireless has announced the launch of the new BlackBerry Storm cell phone! It was supposed to be called the Blackberry Thunder, but I guess that "Storm" just sounds cooler. This is definitely one tricked out cell phone that is set to rival the almighty iPhone 3G!
As RIM has demonstrated with their new BlackBerry Bold, their operating systems can indeed handle multimedia well -- after seeing that device play several movie trailers beautifully at a demo event here in New York, I have complete faith that RIM will carry their OS competency into the big-screen touch device realm. That said, haptic feedback hasn't yet been done right by any device maker to date; the effect is usually cheesy at best, and laggy or battery-draining at worst. If buyers wanted something that shivered every time they touched it, they'd get a pet squirrel with a caffeine addiction.
So the new Blackberry will be on the shelves soon. In fact you can already buy
Blackberry Storm ringtones for it if you want. I guess the big questions are:
1- Is the Blackberry Storm better than the iPhone 3G?
2- How much will the new Blackberry cost?
3- Should I sell my Blackberry and upgrade to rhe new Verizon cell phone?
If you have the answers to these questions, holler at us please.
