College football is approaching. LSU vs. Appalachian State will be the home opening game for the Tigers in 2008. You can go ahead and bank on LSU destroying Appalachian State in the season opener. Appalachian State and LSU were scheduled to play in 2009, but the game was moved up a year to accommodate an opening in the Tigers' schedule. The teams will now not play in 2009.
If you haven't bought your
tickets yet to this
LSU game, you better hurry!!
LSU won the Bowl Championship Series title by beating Ohio State last season. Appalachian State won its record third straight title in what used to be called Division I-AA by beating Delaware.
Reigning BCS champion LSU announced it will host the Mountaineers on Aug. 30, creating the first-ever meeting between two defending national champions. With all due respect to Missouri-Illinois and USC-Virginia, it will arguably be the most intriguing matchup of opening weekend.
The Mountaineers' success has led several top teams to shy away from playing them and coaches have been scrambling to fill openings on the 2008 schedule. Appalachian will visit James Madison and host Jacksonville and Presbyterian before beginning Southern Conference play.
My prediction: LSU 58, Appalachian State 6
Geaux Tigers!!
